Welcome to my safe space!
I believe in the potential of each and every child I work with, and I believe all students want to succeed.
This website was created to help bridge the gap between teaching and behavior interventions.
Let’s get to
know each other!
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m Jess Johnson, a special education teacher and BCBA on a mission to help teachers with behaviors in their classrooms. I create content and blog about how to work with challenging kids.
I received a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education from UNF and then completed my master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis at Vanderbilt University. I began teaching in 2011 and have worked as a Pre-K special education teacher, a Resource Special Education Teacher, a Special Education and Behavior Coach in the public schools across two different states. I also have experience working in ABA clinics with children and young adults with autism.
In 2010 I went from practitioner to parent when my first child was born prematurely and again in 2015 when my second child was diagnosed with ASD. I am currently a special education teacher in a rural public school. I’m branching out to create products on TPT and created this blog to help out other educators, parents, and the greater special needs community. My goal is to create a website that parents, teachers, behavior analysts, and anyone else working in the field can come to share ideas, learn from my experience and background, and collaborate to increase student success.
My life revolves around behavior interventions and I am sharing my journey with the world with the hope that it encourages you where-ever you are in your journey!
Happy Teaching!
Jess
